HOLA, SOY ALLAN.
I am an educator with more than 20 years of experience, 15 of which is in teaching Spanish as a second language. I have a background in international business and journalism, as well as a certificate in intercultural and diversity management. I combine elements from these aspects of my professional background in my dynamic Spanish classes.
I was born in Honduras, and have lived in Spain, Canada and the U.S. Currently, Philadelphia is my home. When I’m not teaching, I spend my time with my son, Lucas, or out running, hiking, frequenting my favorite coffee shops, traveling, or writing fiction.
I am passionate about the Spanish language in all of its forms. In my classes, not only do I teach conventional grammar and language rules, I focus on sharing meaningful aspects of Latin & Spanish culture, from art, literature, cuisine, travel, music and film.
My approach uses conversations that are relevant to my students as a vehicle to learn the language or to take your Spanish to the next level.
I develop customized classes for a variety learners, from those with a casual interest in a new language, to those needing Spanish for business or other work-related needs, or preparing for living or traveling abroad.
Let’s connect and talk about your Spanish language needs!
¡Hasta pronto!
